Facade Systems Of Buildings

As we are prepared a comprehensive research of most popular facade systems are so far in the building industry,we have listed one by one the most preferred items selected by construction companies. The facade system combines attributes of both appearance and superior performance in a way that no other building system can. From a design point of view it is often the most important aspect as it sets the tone for the rest of the building. The term “facade” can refer to any predominantly vertical surface of a building envelope. Sometimes the term “facade” is used to more specifically refer to the exterior surfaces of buildings.

STEEL FACADE

A variety of steel components can be used in modern facade systems of buildings. The steel facade system offers a variety of possible colors and surface structures. In addition, the loads on the supporting structure are minimized. It is also an installation in lesser times. Like steel, it is fireproof and resistant to damage in facade panels.A high level of thermal and acoustic insulation can be provided.

PANEL FRAME FACADE

The panel facades are framed by mullions on the vertical edges and cross braces on the horizontal edges. The posts and cross braces have a thermal bridge break to avoid cold bridges through the element so that no condensation occurs. Uniform curtain walls are characterized by the presence of split mullions and transoms on the perimeters of the panels. These structural shapes are inexpensive to produce in large quantities once a mold has been made.

CURTAINED FACADE

Defining curtain walls are non-structural cladding systems for building structures. They are usually used in large multi-story buildings. Curtain walls allocate the interior from the surroundings. They are not only meet the aesthetic and performance requirements of the building, but also meet wind loads, seismic loads, etc. and transfer them to the main structure of the building. This is in contrast to many traditional construction methods where the exterior walls are an integral part of the building’s primary structure with independent structural elements. They are constructed as modular systems with their own aluminum and steel frames.

curtain wall is the generic term for glazed cladding systems or light metal cladding that rest directly on a supporting frame. In some cases, stone veneers or large tile facings can be added to give the appearance of a more monolithic cladding system.

CLAY FACADE

clay facades are nothing more than terracotta panels that can be attached to the outer walls or facade of any building. Although glass and aluminum based facades have recently complemented Indian cityscapes largely borrowed from the West, clay facades such as facing bricks or clay facade tiles have been used for many years. Clay facades are the result of sophisticated technology and advanced firing processes and are therefore very resistant to the external environment. When it is compared to paint, which can become soiled by dust and dirt, clay facades retain their color longer. Because they are made of terracotta. Their weather resistance makes them very durable and will last for decades.

STEEL AND GLASS FACADE

Stainless steel is an absolute material for the outside of many buildings. Stainless steel has a shiny, polished finish that looks great in modern architecture. Stainless steel has unique aesthetic advantages compared to construction using other materials such as zinc. Stainless steel is a material that can also be easily mounted on any facade. Stainless steel is also a very durable material that is good for the environment.Stainless steel lasts for several decades and is corrosion-resistant thanks to its protective layer. This layer ensures that the weather does not affect the metal and prevents oxidation.

Steel and glass are synergistic materials and are commonly used for facades and roofs of multi-story buildings. Glass panes are generally supported by vertical steel members that are separated from the building’s main structural framework, which may be internal or external to the building. Stainless steel and steel hollow sections are often used in combination with glass.

DOUBLE SKIN FACADE

Consists of two glass walls separated by a cavity on the south facade and is used to reduce a building’s energy consumption. Shading devices are usually installed in the cavity and, depending on the width, access and cleaning walkways. This type of facade has many variations in layout. The two shells form a thermal buffer zone and passive solar gains in the cavity reduce heat losses in winter. If the cavity ventilation is integrated into the building services, solar heated air can be brought into the building , which provides good natural ventilation and reduces the heating load in summer and vice versa.

ALUMINUM COMPOSITE FACADE

Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) cladding is a common term used to describe flat panels composed of thermoplastic core joints between two sheets of aluminum. ACPs are often used for the exterior cladding of buildings (building facades). The main advantage of ACP is that despite its light weight, it is very stiff and strong. Because of the ability to paint aluminum any color, ACPs are constructed in a wide range of metallic and non-metallic colors, as well as in patterns that mimic other materials,

such as wood or marble. ACP function are not limited to the exterior of the building; They can be used in any coating application, partitions, false ceilings, etc.

SUN PROTECTION FACADE

The Sun Shade Facade is a form of solar shading designed to optimize the amount of solar heat and visible light allowed into a building. This can have a significant impact on a building’s energy consumption, as well as the thermal and visual comfort of occupants, protecting against overheating and glare on hot or sunny days. There are a variety of sun protection systems that can be used and integrated as part of the building facade. There are oval  horizontal steel elements running horizontally between outer columns, sized and spaced to reduce solar radiation intensity.

INSULATED WALL FACADE

Insulated Wall Facades are interlocking composite metal clad sandwich panels or insulated concrete panels between the inner and outer concrete members. Steel clad insulation panels are commonly used in low rise, single storey industrial buildings. Panels are typically designed to span in only one direction (either vertically or horizontally) and are manufactured to fit commonly used framing spaces with no intermediate supports. Various insulating materials are available, such as expanded polyurethane (PUR), polyisocyanurate (PIR) and mineral fiber with a variety of insulating, fire retardant and other physical properties.
